Yoga EQ is an embodied Social Emotional Learning program used across the prevention continuum of care and adaptable for all demographics. This trauma-informed, gentle yoga practice was developed by Gro’s founder, Jeannie Harrison, centered on building emotional intelligence, which is vital to relapse prevention, building healthy relationships, and managing change.
Students learn how to identify emotions in the body through meditation and how to shift mood with movement. Specifically, practices combine mindfulness meditation and movement, trauma-sensitive yoga principles, and partner yoga to develop the following components of emotional intelligence:
- Emotional Recognition
- Equanimity (emotional regulation)
- Engaged Empathy (helping others process emotion)
All Gro yoga teachers are trained in Yoga EQ. Want to learn more or book an training? Contact Jeannie Harrison at Jeanniesoffice@gmail.com
