Emote Yoga

Emote Yoga is a specific style of hatha yoga developed by Gro’s founder, Jeannie Harrison, centered on building emotional intelligence. Development of these skills is vital to relapse prevention, building healthy relationships, and managing change.

Emote yoga is a combination of mindfulness meditation and movement, trauma-sensitive yoga principles, and partner yoga. Classes build the following components of emotional intelligence:

  1. Emotional Recognition
  2. Equanimity (emotional regulation)
  3. Empathy
  4. Engaged Empathy (helping others process emotion)
